A very constructive meeting today with Declan Johnston Deputy Head of Mission at Irish Embassy in Pakistan, where we discussed the upcoming High-Level EU–Pakistan Business Forum and the important role of Pakistan Ireland Business Council in strengthening bilateral trade and investment between Pakistan and Ireland. Our discussion focused on how business relations between both countries can grow further and how Pakistani businesses can use Ireland as a gateway to Europe for expansion, investment, and international access. A very positive development discussed was the facilitation of business visas for Pakistani applicants attending business meetings, forums, expos, and trade engagements. There is now a dedicated business visa category with faster turnaround, and importantly, applicants may now retain their passport while the visa decision is being processed. We also agreed on the importance of preparing practical guidance for businesses in both countries, including business setup and regulatory information, to support entrepreneurs and investors seeking opportunities across both markets. A strong step forward toward deeper economic cooperation, practical connectivity, and new business opportunities between Pakistan and Ireland
